For package services - or orders above $19.99 - I will cover the return shipping (2 biz day) only - some areas may have greater delays and are dependent on FedEx. You will be responsible for getting your originals to me. I do suggest the fastest possible service, to ensure your memories are tracked and not exposed to extreme weather.
Largely in part I estimate the percentage of damage or changes made to the photos. For example if between 5-10% of the photo needs changes and does not involve facial or intricate rebuilding, I consider this phase 2 (see pricing for enhancement 2).
If greater than 10% of the photo requires adjusting, or any % of the photo involves eye, mouth, or intricate detail of reconstruction, this would fall under phase 3, or Enhancement & Restoration 3.
I use new, fiber free, cotton gloves with each project. Ensuring any oils or soaps from my hands are not transferred to your photos, which would further degrade your originals. I also use a hand pump blower and brushes to keep dust and other items from scratching your photo. I maintain a clean working environment and scanner, wiping the scanner down prior to each scan.
I work on ONE project at a time. If I have two projects arrive on the same day I only open & begin with the one that contacted me first. I do not open the next project until the last is completed, boxed, and ready to be shipped out. I even have family and friend projects that I work on as I have time, which are placed in their own secure box before opening a new client’s box. This ensures there are no mistakes or losses.
Many people are concerned about letting their precious old photos out of their sight. I totally understand this concern. If you are too worried about sending your photo out I will do what I can with what you can send me. Keep in mind, your scanner or picture of your photo is what I have to work with. My scanner is designed for restorative work and is the highest quality scanner on the market, ensuring the best quality. I completely understand and support you if you still can only send a digital version to be enhanced. I ask that we work together to ensure the highest possible quality so you might receive the best results.
I only use photos that my clients approve of. Your privacy is VERY important to me.
I do offer compensation for restoration photos, should you choose to have one displayed.
Additionally, I will never share your photo or use anywhere other than this website. If you should choose to have it removed I will remove it as soon as possible. Your photos will always remain yours and under your control. Keep in mind others do have the ability to screen capture what they are looking at. If you have concerns over this I will always respect your wishes and not use your photos..
I never share any of your information or property. I do use GoDaddy based services to manage my website, online market, and payment information. This means I don’t have access to anything but your name & contact information you provide in texts, email, or on the contact form here. I do not share any of these things, nor do I hang onto them after 30 days from your completed project. Please see FAQ regarding dropbox or cloud storage.
Cloud storage is the saving of your data (pictures in this case) on a server such as DropBox, apple, google Drive, Box, Amazon drive, etc. There are many companies that offer space on their servers to store digital data. When your photos are scanned they are on my computer, in order to see your photos immediately I upload them to a cloud based server. I prefer DropBox for the simplicity. DropBox also does not convert or downsize your digital files to save space. By reducing the file size you can lose quality. (See FAQ for ”What are Digital Photos?” Once your photos are uploaded to a folder only shared with you via the email address you provide, I will leave myself connected to your private folder for 30 days. This will give you time to make selections for enhancement, should you choose. It will also ensure time for me to make any corrections if you are not happy with something. After 30 days I remove myself from your folder. Your folder continues to belong solely to you and can only be seen by you at this point, for as long as you maintain your cloud account with the provider. I strongly suggest you download your digital photos (files) onto a secure computer, and on a backup to a removable drive (Or jump drive).
